The worm farm at our school was not working properly and our poor worms were dying. Kauri came in on Friday and we re built the worm farm. We had to pull out the worms that were alive and place a new mesh mat underneath them. We removed all the broken tiles that lay under them and killed the giant slugs that had made it their home. Kauri showed us how to feed the worms and keep them alive. We want to collect the worm wee and re use it in our garden to help our plants grow.

What is happening to our forest?

Our forest is having to be cut down as the trees are too big and are now a hazard. Some trees are leaning and therefore could easily break.

Using a doubles halves startegy to solve multiplication problems

Here marika explains how to solve a multiplication problem using a double halve strategy. he know he cannot change the amount of blocks he has but he can re arrange the array to make it easier for him to solve. here he has a problem 18 x 5 = so he changes the array to make 10 x 9 as it is easier to solve.
